I was wondering if anyone knows of any good(less expensive) sources for wheel spacers other then Juha and Gilracing. I'd like to put on a set of FWD volvo wheels 17x7.5 from an S60.
thanks,
Jonathan
ps. Any sources for plans/designs/CAD stuff would be appreciated, i might have a place where i can get them fabbed locally

kennys making some... i dunno if Alvaro is making more or not. Juha is probably the best bet unless you can find some used ones for sale.

I think Pat just runs them with generic spacers that good tire/wheel shops can get and longer studs.
But...thats what Pat does.

I talked to Fred Goske @ wheel adapters. Non hubcentric and the same money as Alvaro's were/are.
Kenny, you making some? I thought you'd abondoned that thought... if so though, I'm interested.

Have you contacted him lately? I know someone who got some hub-centric volvo adapters from there, however the sets that came prior to those were flat, which is why I think it was a recent change.
Alvaro lost my business when he failed to respond to my requests in a timely manner.

Really? On the website it's stated that their spacers are only wheel centric. If they are both hub and wheel, I would definitely consider getting some custom bolt pattern spacers from them.
The Juha spacers are high quality and well priced. I have them.

Nevermind, I just learned tonight that price makes these an impractical option. But they do make hub/wheel -centric adapters.
Also check out www.spacers.nu which I think is the same ones that Juha sells.

what does hub and wheel centric mean?
"Hub-centric" refers to the center bore size on the spacer matching the size of the lip on the hub. Normally when you put a wheel on your car, the center bore of the wheel fits over a lip on the hub and this is where the majority of the load is supported. Without that lip, the wheel would be sitting on the 5 studs, and all of the load would be on the studs instead. There's probably not much chance of the studs shearing off, but it worries some people.
If it's a "wheel-centric" spacer, the lip is part of the spacer, replicating the lip on the hub. Therefore the spacer is centered on the hub, the wheel is centered on the spacer, and everything works together.
When the spacer is flat, (not wheel-centric), the wheel has to be centered on the spacer using the lugnuts, otherwise the wheel will vibrate. This means that the lugnuts must be tight before the car is lowered back onto the ground, or else the wheel will shift with respect to the spacer and be off center.
I'm officially starting a Wheels, etc. FAQ page.

It would be reat if you could send them to me. Someone else was already nice enough to send me some diagrams, but I can't see how having a second version to compare could be a bad thing. My email is jonny_scorch@hotmail.com
thanks,

I am thinking of putting some s80
wheels on my 944t and I know I am going to need spacers. My questions is: is it better to get the tpc spacers
from juha or a similar product where you will need wheel bolts or should I go with the other product with the
wheel studs and lug nuts. I believe the studs are more user friendly when putting wheels back on but my other
question is: is there a structural advantage or safety advantage to one or the other if they are both wheel and
hub centric?
