That's how it always works out.

I don't know how fast a V70 would have been. Some P2 cars seem to feel much peppier than others with comparable service records imho.

I've had the exact same experience with my former 850 T5. Altering the gap on my spark plugs fixed it instantly. I'd start with the known 5 cylinder issues you can fix for free.

Check the condition and gap of your spark plugs. IIRC the factory gap is .028. If you're running more boost you may want to narrow that down to .026.

If it's anything like the automatic shift knob in these cars it gets pulled up and off. The auto ones do contain a switch mechanism so I imagine they're even more fragile.

The t cam ought to be one of the easiest cams to aquire for next to no $$$. If you're worried about the condition of yours, I would just find another one to run. You'll also need shims.
