Thank you all fore the fine comments

I also think the wheels look better with out the caps.

I realy wanted codiak racingwheels like Rob on his 242, but i think the futuras i a god setup also, and they are easier to find here i scandinavia.

Thank you.

The rear wheels is 10/17" et 19, and i have 12 mm spacers on them also.

For tyres i now have 235/40 17 on, realy stretch but it's not without problems, the rear fender lips have been trimmed down to ca. 10 mm total and its a ballance betwen the tyre rubbing to the fender and the inside of the wheel rubbing to the inside of the chassis.

The scrubbing on the inside is only when im driving over a cerb or over a bump in only one side of the car, with 20 mm spacerc there is no problem on the inside but then the outside is a problem, the best fit for now is with 12 mm spacers, and i have made my panhard adjustable to have a perfect adjustment of my rearaxel.

Fore next year i think i will change the inner lip of the rear wheels from a 7.5 to a 6.5" lip so the wheel becomes a 9" it will fit better, otherwise i have to make a small adjustment of the rear fender in the back, but im not happy with cutting right now.

The sum of the Et is 7mm if you count the spacers with, Et 19 - 12 = 7

I have wondered for a while how those rims would look on a 240.. they look absolutely awesome. Did you widen the rear fenders?

Hej Mattis.

Thanks, i hav not widen my rear fenders yet, the fenders is original in it's shape, i have only trimmed the inner fender down so there is no edge left where the inner and outer fender is spotweldet from original, now there is about 7mm edge betwen inner and outer fender and they are weldet together edge to edge, hope you understand i also shorten my tratcion and control arms and propellershaft ( momentarme, bærarme og kardangaksel ) with 20 mm so the rear axel comes a little away from the back of the rear fender where the mudflaps is atatched.

But must say, there is no extra space, it's wery tight so im thinking of cutting in the rear fender to make more space like Ricard Eklund did on his fantastic 244. ore rebuilt the rear whels from 10 to only 9"

Ah, very nice. I was wondering if there was anything else you had to do. Is it normal for people to shorten the propshaft and control/trailing arms as well? I've heard of shortening the traction/torque rods before but maybe that was only for adjusting pinion angle.

Looks great! Anything new?

Hi.

Maby i have mixed the english words but i mean the arm from car to rearaxel (trailing arm) and the arm above the trailingarm has been shorten by 20 mm to get more clearence in the back of the rear fenders and i also made the panhard rod adjustable to get the rearaxel in the right position with clerance betwen tyres and inner fender, and i have cut the rear fenderlip down to minimal (ca 8 mm), thats it.

I dont know if it's normal to do so but i works great, and if you look at older 142/144 volvo's you will se that they also have the rear axel more to the front than 242/244.

Rigth now the car is put i winter mode with normal strouts in front and normal wheels for winter use, i use the car as a daily driver and my economy dos not alow a winter car right now

Btw. the car has got 585000 km on it right now........

But the plans for the car is..

New bilsteins in racing mode, maby new eibach front springs, droped 50mm spindels on the coilover, and maby widen the rear fenders just a litle in the back

And iv'got a B52304T engine in my garage to put in instead of the B230ET, but first tune in the suspention.

Ill ad som pictures, later.

Hi visti.. you better get working on my compomotive wheels instead of the suspension on you car there will always be time for engine swap and buying the new springs and Bilstein shocks

quite a bit actualy, its always a problem in the back of the rear fender just by the point of fastening the mudflaps and 20 mm further forward of the wheel helps allot.

But a widening of the rear fender like Swedish Rikard Eklunds 242 will be the best to do.

I'll take some photos.
