The B18 was designed as half of a B36. Which is sort of why it's so overbuilt (for the time at least) with 5 main bearings. The B4B/B14/B16 were all 3 main bearing engines.

Remove the axle nut, reverse it, and screw it...

Remove the axle nut, reverse it, and screw it back on flush with the threads, so it can help support the end of the axle. Also stops the drum and puller from flying off the axle when it finally pops.
