liquid urethane

hello everyone, I am in the process of swaping a zf s5-18/3 trans into my volvo 240. I discovered that the bushing for the trans mount is worn out, I did some thinking and I found this video( its an explanation of DIY liquid urethane)

I was wondering if anyone has done this before. I am mainly interested in doing this because sourcing a trans mount for a maserati biturbo is difficult/more expensive and I want something that will last, however if possible I don't want it to be too harsh. anyways I hope that is enough info thanks in advanced.

I have no clue how well it will hold up in that application but I've had good luck using Smooth-On products to make shifter bushings. VytaFlex is available with a shore hardness rating of 10 to 60 so you can choose how stiff you want it to be.

Here's a new mount in the US if you don't want to try making your own.

I'm curious about the trans adapter you're using. Do you have any details? I also have a ZF s5-18/3 trans from a Maserati Biturbo that I'd like to put behind a redblock.

sorry for the delay,
My brother is a sort of machining/fabricator hobbyist, so I am paying him to do it, and he is teaching me as best as he can along the way. Our plan for the adapter plate is, to make a plate the mounts to from a p1800 bellhousing to the Maserati gear box, with a flat flywheel. He is 3d printing a test peice to verify everything works. I will post pics of our progress below.

Yes i've used liquid urethane to fill Honda motor mounts before. Make sure you seal the bottom real well so the stuff doesn't leak out.

This, or the fast setting urethane caulking/construction adhesive.

There's some black stuff that's pretty common in the US.

slight mistake..... we realized that we mirror imaged the transmission bolt pattern, but everything else fits perfectly. Here is the corrected image, now to find some big ole chunks of aluminum:-D.
