240 Adding an Aftermarket Ambient Temperature Gauge to your Volvo 240

The front bumper is the ideal location for the sensor as its protected from engine heat/exhaust temps and also the slipstream.

One aspect about the VDO gauge you used it doesn't have the red warning light when the ambient temps starts to approach freezing as the Volvo version does. I always thought that was a useful feature to have. Also noticed the Volvo one only goes up to 100 degrees (102) on the while yours reaches 120.

Watched the video, why did you put tape on the threads? The sender needs to ground to the body to operate correctly.

I guess I've just gotten into the habit of wrapping threads over the years...for whatever reason...lol
It's been working properly, so it must be making ground contact, none-the-less.
I'll make a note on the video regarding ground contact, though.
