This is what I am doing to my 74/142, taking 2 1/2 inches out of center of a set of 240 commandos and reshaping to fit older body, didn't want to cut original bumpers.

Didn't want black rubber and didn't want to pay $$ shipping, 240 commandos are less rare.

But they don't follow the peaked front of a 140.

Or pull the commandos off a 1973'+ 164 ?
Would they fit ?

^1973 164 bumpers are 140 bumpers, but with added turn signals.

The curve on the 240 commando's that I used (not sure of year) did not match the curve on the 74 bumpers I removed. I cut the newer one's in half and re-welded them with the proper curve. Had to make new brackets to mount them also.

Maybe my car had been hit at one time. I do know that the passenger fender was gold (from a 142GL) with the rest of the body being orange. It's also been about 18 years since I owned the car, so...

This is how I remember it when I was picking a 75 164 at CRO in San Rafael and I was parked right next to it with my 82 245 Turbo.
