I am not sure is there is a walk through or suggestions on how to get some of the slop out the m-46 Trans I am not sure if it is normal play or not but I was wondering what people have done to make it feel solid? If that is possible or does it always feel like a lazy worn out tractor?

The coupler at the shift rod at the trans is a source of most of the slop. You are gonna have to get creative to fix it.

Yeah, check these little guys:

Dunno if it's available for the 46, but a Homer short-shifter is very nice.

This is where much of the slop comes from. I recall a guy having success maybe installing an oversize pin/welding.

New shifter bushings and shift cage bushings will help too.

There is an oring inside the coupler that should also be replaced while it is apart. Be careful with the sleeve that covers the coupler. No longer available. I think the pins are available.
