Hey guys and girls,

I'm new to the community, but I'm rocking the brick world literally since I was born. :-P

That's my first one in the early '90. A bright red, open top 740 - a hell of a mashine.

Years past by, I grew older, budget got tighter... And as soon I was old enought to get a real car I ended up in the Honda scene. A while back I got back into the Volvo game and got a '03 V40 2.0T, but my dream still was to get a early style 740 Turbo...
A few weeks back the V40 got replaced by my first real brick and my Honda fleet got a new companion the same age.

And this it it. My '87 740 Turbo Intercooler with the full Theis K1 treatment.

It's rolling on 15" Rial Mesh rims and Hausser lowering springs. The rest - besides the horroble violett window tint - was stock when I bought it.

So far I'm working on getting it mechanical sound and ready for the next technical inspection.

My highlights of this restomod project so far:

f28t58p7957971n2_yVSBcDkb.jpg

The high-flow airfilter, installed by the preowner.

Preowner: "One of the horns stopped working. No idea, what's the issue."

f28t58p7957971n7_IJuVYCyD.jpg

Fixed...

f28t58p7957971n15_yKIJfXNb.jpg

Some whining noice from underneath the car...

Fixed... The in-tank pump got replaced as well.

The preowner installed a typical 2000s aftermarked head unit in a quite horroble way in that car... Cut wires, messy adapters leading to other adapters and insulating screw joints... Throw it all away, fixed the wiring and installed the double DIN Kenwood SatNav, I had in the V40 before.

Combined with some Hifonix speakers I installed behind the stock speaker covers and an active Pioneer subwoofer it sounds quite nice.

Next up is replacing the brake and clutch hoses and some worn out steering parts.

I think it looks way better on a wagon than on the sedans.

The kit, rims and lowering springs where installed, when the car was new.

Beautiful! That double DIN screen looks way better than I ever imagined it possible could. That's a nice flush installation. +1 on the body kit looking rad as well. :)

I used the 3d printed frame from Byneset Customs. I'm realy happy with that flush install as well. Only the (typical 3d printed) surfaces still need a bit of work, to make it look like stock in the end.

Two weeks back I fixed the worn out brake and clutch hoses by replacing them with HEL stainless hoses and replaced the leaking slave cylinder as well.

Today I testfitted my newest arrival: A genuine Volvo / FoHa rear spoiler without brake light. It even comes in the correct color - and the same state of paint like the bumpers, hood and front right fender...

Next on the list:
- fix some rust
- replace some steering parts
- replace the control arm bushings in the front
- pass the technical inspection
- get rid of the '80s purple porn tint
- fix the headliner (new fabric is allready here)
- upgrade to power sunroof while I do the headliner

Very nice. A buddy of mine is patching up a theis k1 kit for his 240 wagon. We should have it on here before long.
Nice. He have the matching wheels as well? Looking for some close ups from the centercaps to get some made.

Where can I get one of these?
I still have mine. First owner, low milage... But I won't sell it. I can keep my eyes open, maybe one of these will pop up for sale somewhere. My dad bought it at the dealership back in the days.

That ground effect kit is fire!

 One of the reasons I bought it.

During the last weeks I had some fun with the 740...
I fixed the usual worn front end bushings.
When the weather was warmer the coolant temp sensor gone bad...
It started leaking oil, so I cleaned the oil separator and noticed the hose in the block was perished and leaking.
Two weeks back the heat exchanger gone bad...

While taking the whole car appart I replaced all the coolant and vacuum hoses, intake gasket, breather hoses, the heater controle valve, installed a new air flow meter and a new distributor (both NOS Volvo units), etc...

A friend brought me a rear sway bar which I installed as well.

With another friend I'm working on a decent design to bring a bit of color on all that silver. Well... What started with some simple stripes ended up in a tribute to the Gr. A 240 Kissling Motorsport raced in the DTM in 1985.
